Each plan is offered at two billing intervals. Annual is cheaper per month; monthly has no commitment. The savings are real but small enough that "which one's better" comes down to how confident you are in the long-term fit.
The numbers
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Annual savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/mo | $24/mo | ~17% |
| Pro | $79/mo | $66/mo | ~17% |
| Business | $149/mo | $124/mo | ~17% |
Annual billing means one charge per year, ~$60 / $156 / $300 less than 12× the monthly rate respectively.
Picking at signup
The signup flow defaults to monthly because most people prefer to commit less up front. You can switch to annual after signup once you're confident in the fit — there's no penalty for starting monthly.
Switching after signup
Settings → Billing → Manage subscription (opens Stripe portal) → switch interval. Two cases:
Monthly → annual
Takes effect at next renewal date. So if you switch on April 15 and your renewal is May 1, you'll be charged the annual amount on May 1 (covering May 1 through the following May 1). Until then, you keep the monthly cycle.
You can also switch immediately by cancelling the monthly sub and starting fresh on annual — but Stripe prorates the unused monthly portion as a credit toward the annual charge, so the cost difference is essentially zero either way.
Annual → monthly
Takes effect at next renewal date — i.e., one year from when you started annual. The portal shows you exactly when. Until then you stay on annual.
If you need to drop to monthly mid-annual-cycle (e.g., you sold the business and want to hand off to the new owner), email support@trytimely.com — we can prorate manually.
Which makes sense?
Rough heuristic: if you've been paying monthly for ~2 months and you're still actively using Timely, switch to annual. The savings (one extra month free, basically) cover the case where you stop using it before the year is up.
If you're seasonal (e.g., you only run schedules during summer), monthly is the better fit — you can pause / cancel any time without leaving annual money on the table.
Refunds on annual
Standard policy is no prorated refunds on annual cancellations. Common exceptions where we do refund:
- Business closed — you're winding down operations. Refund the unused portion.
- App outage / unusable for an extended period — refund the affected period.
- Billed by mistake — refund.
Email support@trytimely.com with the situation and we'll handle case-by-case.
