Timely has six plans: Free, Starter, Pro, Business, Business+, and Enterprise. Free is a real, permanent tier — not a locked-down trial state. You can sign up choosing it directly (no card, no trial, ever), or land there automatically if a Business trial ends without converting. Either way it's the same tier, described below.

How signup works
Two paths, both no card required:
- Sign up choosing Free — you land directly on the permanent Free tier described above. No trial clock, nothing to convert.
- Sign up choosing any paid plan (or don't specify one — Business is the default) — you get a 7-day free trial with full Business-tier access, starting immediately. You are not asked for a payment method at signup. Conversion only happens if you explicitly enter a card via Settings → Billing before or after the trial ends.
Three days before a trial ends we send a reminder email.
When the trial ends:
- If you entered a card and ran Checkout — you continue on whatever plan you chose, billed from that point.
- If you never entered a card — nothing is charged (there's nothing to charge), and the org quietly drops to the same permanent Free tier a direct Free signup gets. Your data — schedules, employees, locations — stays exactly as you left it.
Cancel a paid subscription anytime from Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. We won't ask why, but if you'd tell us at support@trytimely.com we'd appreciate the feedback.
What happens when I downgrade?
Downgrading (including a trial lapsing into Free) is non-destructive — your data persists across plan changes:
- Schedule rules that you'd built on Pro still exist after a downgrade to Starter or Free, but they don't fire (the rules engine is gated). Re-upgrade and they reactivate exactly as you left them.
- Analytics history stays in the database. Downgrade from Business to Pro and the dashboard pages disappear from the nav, but the underlying data is preserved.
- Locations exceeding the new limit — e.g., downgrading from Business (20 locations) to Pro (5) when you have 7 locations — all 7 remain fully functional; you're just blocked from adding new ones until you're under the limit. Removing a location (or upgrading) re-opens the slot.
- On Free specifically: schedule creation, editing, and one-click publish keep working. SMS, clock-in/timesheets, AI scheduling, and integrations stop working until you upgrade again — those are Free's actual gates, not a general lockout.
You can re-upgrade at any time, no data loss.
Enterprise
Enterprise is custom — multi-org accounts, dedicated SSO, audit logs, REST API, custom SLAs, volume pricing. Reach out at trytimely.com/contact to start a conversation.
